In a distinguished career spanning 17 years, Gaurav Laghate has established himself as a strategic communications leader with deep expertise across the Media, Entertainment, Sports, Retail, and Hospitality sectors. In his current role as Head - Corporate Brand, PR and Corporate Communications at Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), he is responsible for shaping the organization’s corporate narrative, driving strategic communications, and enhancing stakeholder engagement. He reports to Gaurav Banerjee, MD & CEO.
Recognised for his unique blend of journalistic acumen and corporate communication strategy, he brings a rare combination of editorial rigour and business context to the role. His ability to craft compelling narratives, build corporate reputation, and drive trust among diverse stakeholder groups has positioned him as a key voice in the industry. His leadership plays a pivotal role in strengthening SPNI’s brand presence and aligning communications efforts with broader business objectives.
Prior to joining SPNI, Gaurav held senior editorial roles at leading media houses including Mint, where he served as Senior Editor and Head of the Consumer Bureau, and at The Economic Times, Business Standard, Indian Television, and Television Post. At Mint, he led editorial strategies across major consumer sectors, further deepening his understanding of audience engagement and narrative impact. He also reported on industry’s most consequential shifts across television, streaming, sports, and the creator economy. He is recognised for his ability to translate complex changes into clear, credible communication.
Gaurav’s expertise extends beyond the newsroom. As a seasoned moderator and speaker, he has contributed to marquee industry forums such as FICCI FRAMES, IAMAI, and the AVIA Asia Video Summit, reflecting his active engagement with the evolving media and entertainment landscape.
A firm believer in work–life balance, he maintains a refined cultural sensibility through his interests in theatre, music, reading, and travel.
